Who Can Use the PET Score?
The PET examination is a preliminary/eligibility examination conducted by UPSSSC. Its score may be used for recruitment processes covered by the applicable UPSSSC rules and notifications.
A PET score does not itself constitute appointment to a government post. Candidates must separately meet the eligibility conditions and participate in the recruitment process for the relevant post.
UPSSSC PET Score Card Validity
The information provided for the 2026 examination cycle states that the UPSSSC PET score card is valid for 3 years.
Candidates should nevertheless verify the score-validity conditions applicable to a particular future recruitment notification before applying.
Job Responsibilities
Since UPSSSC PET 2026 is an examination and not a specific job vacancy, there are no job responsibilities associated directly with the PET application.
After qualifying or obtaining the required PET score, candidates may become eligible to participate in applicable UPSSSC recruitment processes, subject to the conditions of each individual recruitment notification.
Required Skills
UPSSSC PET does not prescribe professional job skills in the same way as a private-sector job vacancy.
For examination preparation, candidates may focus on:
- General knowledge
- Current affairs
- General awareness
- Reasoning and analytical ability
- Understanding of Uttar Pradesh-related topics
- Basic academic and general aptitude areas included in the prescribed syllabus
Candidates should use the official syllabus and examination scheme rather than relying solely on third-party preparation material.
Selection Process
UPSSSC PET is a preliminary examination/eligibility stage rather than a final appointment process.
The information provided does not establish a single universal selection process for every future UPSSSC vacancy.
For any particular government post, candidates should read the relevant recruitment notification to determine:
- Whether a valid PET score is required.
- Whether candidates are shortlisted on the basis of PET scores.
- Whether a main examination, skill test, physical test, interview or another stage is required.
- The specific eligibility conditions for that post.
Therefore, candidates should not consider appearing in PET alone as confirmation of selection or government employment.
Documents Required
Candidates should keep relevant documents available for examination and subsequent recruitment processes, as applicable.
Commonly required documents may include:
- Aadhaar Card or other valid ID proof
- Educational qualification certificates
- Class 10 certificate/marksheet
- Category certificate, if applicable
- EWS certificate, if applicable
- PwD/Divyang certificate, if applicable
- Recent photograph
